NYC Book Launch: Kristen Arnett presents Mostly Dead Things
In conversation with T Kira Madden
Reception to follow
Kristen Arnett’s debut novel Mostly Dead Things is a darkly funny, heart-wrenching, and eccentric look at loss and art and love. After Jessa-Lynn’s father commits suicide in the family’s taxidermy shop the whole Morton family seems to fall apart in grief and shock. Jessa steps up to manage the failing business, while her mother copes by creating aggressively lewd art and her brother withdraws completely. As each family member crumbles in their own way, Jessa finds that for the first time she has no choice but to learn who these people truly are, and ultimately how she fits alongside them. Joining her in conversation is T Kira Madden, photographer and author of the memoir, Long Live the Tribe of Fatherless Girls.
