Story Time: Kate Steinberg presents Dandan’s Dream

Dandan’s Dream, by author Xiaowen Zhu and illustrator Yangling Gong, is “pure fantasy in the best sense” (Kirkus Reviews, starred review) with art that evokes the work of Elisa Kleven and Maira Kalman. Dandan has always dreamed of visiting her father, who is away studying icebergs at the South Pole. Now, thanks to a new post office policy, she can mail herself there—but not without a few adventures along the way. Today’s story time, with editor Kate Steinberg of publisher Reycraft Books, is a special tribute to Megan Howard, the late Reycraft Books editor who shepherded Dandan’s Dream into print. Ages 3 to 8.

Video Series for Kids

For connecting with children's book authors while learning remotely, check out our video interview series made just for kids! In Authors Spill the Beans, Greenlight Bookseller Ben Hoffman sits down (virtually!) with authors writing for middle graders—it's a great resource for parents and teachers to share with their students, and includes writing tips and insights for being creative while stuck at home (plus some silly clips and sound effects for kids too!).
